ACTIVITY TRACKER II FAQ

  • CONNECT YOUR DEVICE NOW

    1. Download “Actiiv Trackers” app from iOS
      or Android store.
    2. Open the app, select ‘skip’ to go to
      ‘Settings’ page.
    3. Set up your profile, Goals, Alarms, etc
      then press ‘Save’.
    4. Ensure your device is in ‘Step’ mode.
      Press the ‘SYNC’ button on your
      ‘Settings’ page.
    5. You will notice a ‘lock’ symbol will switch from unlock, to locked. This means the app has paired with your device. If message “scanning time out” is displayed, retry after 30 seconds.
    6. To remove or unpair your device, you will need to press the ‘lock’ symbol to unlock.
    7. Once you have completed steps 1-5, you can sync your device via the sync page (with the big SYNC button), provided you have selected  “step” mode on your device.
  • HELP WITH PAIRING YOUR ACTIVITY TRACKER

    If you have trouble pairing your Actiiv Tracker

    • Make sure the Actiiv Tracker is fully charged
      (please remove the device screen from the wristband to charge device)
    • Your Bluetooth is turned ON via Phone/Tablet,
    • Sync your Actiiv Tracker to your Phone/Tablet – PLEASE NOTE: Go to settings, enter your personal information, then press SYNC and the LOCK will lock (the lock symbol is located next to the SYNC button in your ‘settings’ page).
    • Click out of the Actiiv Tracker APP
      ANDROID: Swipe away to your right/left
      IPHONE: Double click the home button and swipe away the APP.
    • PLEASE NOTE: When you have synced your device to your Phone/Tablet, the Actiiv Tracker APP
      will say “BLUETOOTH DISCONNECTED”,
      that’s completely normal.
    • Ensure that your device is in ‘STEP MODE’, then PRESS the SYNC button in your ‘Settings’ page.
    • The next morning, just press the button on the Actiiv Tracker device and the tracker will reconnect with your Phone/Tablet.

     *Please take note the device does not sync automatically

     

    Each time to update your activities to your Actiiv Tracker APP you will need to resync your device.

     

     Still not pairing? Follow these steps in order:

    • Delete the APP
    • Restart your Phone/Tablet and reinstall the app from the App/Google Play store.
      Note: Deleting the APP will not delete the data associated with your account.
    • Please make sure your Bluetooth is ON.
    • Log into the app and go through the syncing process again.
  • HOW TO USE YOUR ACTIVITY TRACKER

    To switch your device ON/OFF, press and hold the button on your device for approximately 5 seconds.

     

    To check time/date/battery life, press the button
    on your device

     

    To enter/exit activity mode (‘Step mode’ & ‘Sleep mode’), double press the button on your device.

     

    When the feet icon appears, you are in step mode.

    When the bed icon appears, you are in sleep mode.

     

    In Step mode, scroll through each menu below by a single press of the button on your device.

    Feet Icon - Steps taken

    Line Icon - Distance in km/miles

    Flame Icon - Calories burned

    Target Icon - Percentage of daily goals achieved

     

    In sleep mode, a single touch of the button on your device will display the time and date.

  • MY ACTIVITY TRACKER WON'T WAKE UP

    Fresh out of the box? That’s a bummer. Sometimes our Bands get so excited sitting on the shelf, waiting to be bought, they run out of all their juice. You may have to leave the band on charge for about 2-3 hours for it to be fully charged up again!

     

    Plugged in but still no lights? Don’t give up yet! You could have been given a faulty charging cord, you can check this by plugging it in to any other devices you have that use a Micro USB cable.

     

    If your cable doesn’t work then give us a call on our support line and let us know!

  • WAS DOES YOUR ACTIVITY TRACKER TRACK?

    The Activity Tracker will track steps taken, active minutes, distance traveled, calories burned and sleep.

     

    Steps are tracked using internal hardware to detect movement, and this movement is then determined to be a step based on a unique step tracking algorithm.

     

    Active minutes are calculated for any activity lasting 30 seconds or more. Any movement lasting less than 30 seconds will not count towards an active minute.

     

    Distance traveled is calculated using 3 factors: number of steps taken, speed of those steps, and set stride length.

     

    Calories are calculated using 4 factors: set weight and gender visible in user settings, the number of steps recorded, and the speed of those steps.

     

    Sleep is tracked using the same hardware used to track movement of the band. Asleep, restless and awake periods are based on intensity of movement ranging from no movement, very little movement and recorded steps.

  • MY ACTIVITY TRACKER IS TOO BIG

    Your Activity Tracker can be adjusted for a firmer fit. Simply wrap the band further around your wrist and fasten at the desired fit.

  • WHICH WAY ROUND DO I WEAR MY ACTIVITY TRACKER?

    The gold dots on the underside of the Activity Tracker should be on the same side of your wrist as your thumb. For the most accurate step counting, please wear the Activity Tracker on your non dominant hand.

  • WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY SPLASH PROOF?

    TheActivity Tracker is not waterproof. However, it is splashproof! Which means it can handle a little bit of water here and there. Its okay to wear if your having a quick shower, but we would not suggest keeping it on

    in the bath.

     

     IMPORTANT!: Please remember to take your Activity Tracker off before swimming!

  • ABOUT SLEEP TRACKING

    The Activity Tracker  tracks three different levels of activity while you are sleeping: deep, light, awake

     

    ‘Awake’ is when you get up to go to the bathroom, take the dog out for a walk, or suddenly develop a sleep walking habit.

     

    'Light’ activity is measured by general body movement, such as turning over, adjusting your pillow, punching your partner in the side to stop the snoring, etc.

     

    ‘Deep’ is when you are completely at rest, dreaming of sweet nothings.

     

    To review your sleep data, go into the Actiiv Trackers app, go to activity, and from there you can choose to view your sleep data, steps data (active and in-active minutes) or calories burned data on an easy to read chart!

  • HOW DO I TRACK MY SLEEP?

    Your Activity Tracker needs to be set to ‘sleep mode’ to monitor your sleep acitivity.

     

    Double press the little button on your band to set to sleep mode. Make sure you remember to double press the button again when you wake up so your band can start tracking your daily progress!

  • HOW TO READ THE SLEEP CHART?

    Your sleep data is recorded and displayed using the tiles and chart displays.

     

    Your sleep data is categorised as time awakened (RED), restlessness (LIGHT BLUE) and deep sleep (DARK BLUE).

     

    While pressing and holding the screen on your device, slide your finger left and right to see detailed sleep information. The sleep details by the minute feature is currently under development for the Android app.

     

    In addition to viewing your daily sleep with our charts, you can also view your data monthly and weekly using the calendar icon.

  • WHY CAN'T YOU TRACK STAIRS?

    We tried, we really did. But technology hasnt caught up with our hopes and dreams just yet!

  • HOW LONG DOES THE BATTERY LAST?

    The battery lasts about 5 days with standard usage.

     

    Charging time can take about 2-3 hours for the battery
    to be fully charged.

  • HOW OFTEN SHOULD I SYNC THE ACTIVITY TRACKER?

    Your Activity Tracker stores up to 3 days worth of data.

     

    We recommend syncing your band everyday to make
    sure your data is safe and accurate!

  • DOES THE ACTIVITY TRACKER TELL THE TIME?

    Yes, the band displays the date and time with just one click of the button on your band.

  • CAN I REPLACE THE BATTERY?

    The Activity Tracker uses a Rechargeable Lithium Polymer battery. Unfortunately, the battery cannot be replaced at this time.

     

    If you believe your battery is not functioning properly, please contact us and let us know!

  • HOW DO I SEE MY PROGRESS THROUGHOUT THE DAY?

    You can review your daily progress with just the touch of a button! One click will show you the date and time, 2 clicks will show your steps taken, 3 clicks will show distance travelled, 4 clicks will show calories you have burned,
    5 clicks will show the percentage of how much of your daily goals you have achieved.

  • PAIR THE  ACTIVITY TRACKER WITH MY ANDROID

    To pair with your Activity Tracker and your Android phone must have Android 4.3 and newer. The phone

    must also possess Bluetooth low energy technology otherwise known as Bluetooth 4.0, and have a screen

    4 inches or larger.

  • HOW DO I UPDATE MY ACTIVITY TRACKER?

    We never stop improving our devices, so don’t be surprised to see update invites for your Activity Tracker’s firmware.

     

    A couple of tips to note:

    • Your Activity Tracker must have at least 10% battery in order to complete an update.
    • If, when the update alert appears, you chose ‘later’ you can trigger the update by tapping on the Activity Tracker device tile on the app home screen. You will see device info listed. If you have an update that needs to be completed, it will be first on the list. Tap on ‘software update’ to start the process.

     

    If your update gets stuck in the "connecting" phase for
    an extended period of time, we suggest following
    these steps:

    • Force quit and restart the app to exit the update.
    • Select the Activity Tracker tile on the app home screen, then select "Deregister device" and follow the prompts to un-pair your Band.
    • Re-pair the Activity Tracker with your account by selecting the menu (3 horizontal bar icon at the top left of the app home screen), then select 'pair device' and follow the prompts to do so.

     

    The update should begin automatically when you successfully re-pair the Activity Tracker. If not, follow the second tip above.

  • I CAN'T SYNC MY APP FOR A FEW DAYS

    To be safe, we recommend syncing every day and letting our servers store all of your activity data. But we know that can’t always happen. So we built in a some extra memory space to hold up to seven days of data.

     

    When you are finally able to sync with the app, don’t be concerned if your history doesn’t update instantly. It may take a few hours to transfer all the data and update your charts and profile accordingly.

  • CAN I USE THE ACTIVITY TRACKER ON A COMPUTER?

    No, unfortunately you cannot use the device on a computer.

  • WHERE DO I FIND MY ACTIVITY TRACKER SPECS?

    After you've successfully paired the Activity Tracker to your account, tap on the Activity Tracker device tile on the app home screen, then select Debug Info at the very bottom of the screen. You will see a list of various information:

    • Device ID: the unique ID for your specific Band.
    • Hardware version: the version of physical materials in the Band.
    • Software version: the current software on your Activity Tracker.
    • Radio version: the version of Bluetooth software.
  • WHICH PHONES/TABLETS CAN I USE?

    Our devices require BLE (Bluetooth low energy a.k.a Bluetooth 4.0) to connect. BLE is only available in certain operating systems and phones, and generally was not implemented in Android phones before Android 4.3.

     

    The iPhone 4 does not include BLE capabilities. iOS requires 7.1 and higher (iPhone 4 excluded) Android requires 4.3 and higher Please note, our Activity Tracker does not sync with a computer.

     

    You must have a smartphone/tablet to use the
    Activity Tracker.

  • HOW DO I CALCULATE CALORIES BURNT?

    We estimate the calories you have burned based on
    your weight and level of activity (i.e. you will burn more calories if you are running versus walking). Calories are calculated using four factors: your set weight and gender, the number of steps you take, and the speed of
    those steps.

     

    We don’t include a calories estimator, or anything that assumes the calories you burned by simply breathing.

  • MY STEP COUNTER WON'T RESET?

    To manually reset your step, mile, calorie and minutes count, you will need to change your phone/tablet’s clock:

    • Change the clock to 11:58 pm
    • Launch the app and sync your Activity Tracker with the app (double tap the Band to prompt a sync)
    • Wait for 'midnight' or 12:00. The app should reset your activity to zero
    • After the app resets to zero, change your phone/tablet's clock back to it’s normal time zone
    • Finally, sync the Activity Tracker with the app
